Robert Frost & his Literary Element.

To begin, I’ll Be talking about Robert Frost’s poem “After Apple-picking”. To me his poem was about how in the beginning of his apple picking season, it was great and wonderful but it all comes to an end. I believed he used  Metaphoric imagery to show how not only the seasons but our lives come to end and how frail they are. Also how uneventful it was.

Our lives are like the apples themselves, beautiful and frail. I say this because like the apples they and be bruised very easily. Frost said / there were ten thousand fruit to touch, cherish in hand, lift down, and not let fall./ ( 30.31,32) To me he was saying that these apples are our lives and we need to pick them carefully. One mistake and we can easily bruise or worse. So we must cherish our lives and be careful with them. Now Not only did frost talk about our lives but he also talked about the season’s and sleeping.

Sleeping is mandatory for us to be able to do what we do every single day.  Compare a woodchuck’s hibernation to a human’s regular sleep. Frost said / The woodchuck could say whether it’s like his long sleep, as I describe its coming on, Or just some human sleep/ (35 & 36) When Frost said this I took it as The season’s ending was our lives. To me it was showing how every thing comes to an end like the apple picking season ended, so did the woodchucks time to be free. Then once it ended, the woodchuck went in to hibernation and he went to sleep  or he could be dead. This is how he compared life to the seasons and there ending.
Finally, just to get my point across. Frost showed us how easily life can slip by and there opportunities and how life is so frail so we need to be careful. Our lives are something that we shouldn’t play with or take lightly, like the apples we can be easily bruised and can fall. Lastly, if money wasn’t an object to me in life, I would become a parkour instructor. Now I understand that when you hear that at first you may think that it only benefits me and the ones who actually learn it. Allow me to explain. Teaching parkour not only would help people physically but also mentally. It would show them that we can overcome any obstacle in our path no matter how big it is, it can be conquered. It also show how there is so much more in self then you can actually see, to open our eyes to something much more then we see in front of us.
